Some of the most rewarding conversations I have with donors start with a simple realization: many of the most impactful charitable gifts don't come from a checking account.
In fact, assets you've held for years may create opportunities to give more generously than you might expect.
Donating appreciated assets—such as a business interest, real estate, stock, or cryptocurrency—directly to a DAF offers significant tax benefits that allow you to maximize kingdom capital. This happens in a few different ways:
You can receive a charitable deduction for the value of the asset you donate.
When the asset liquidates, the share owned by The Signatry is generally not subject to capital gains tax.
In practical terms, that can mean more resources directed to the ministries you care about and less lost to taxes. (If you want to see just how big a difference noncash giving could make for your family, you can run some example scenarios using our Generosity Calculator.)
At The Signatry, we've helped families, business owners, and advisors navigate noncash and nonliquid charitable contributions. Our team understands both the strategy and the process, helping make complex gifts as smooth, simple, and effective as possible.
One important reminder: start early. Noncash gifts often involve additional planning. Beginning the conversation well before a transaction, sale, or year-end deadline can create more options and better outcomes.
Every dollar has a destination. The question is whether more of those dollars will support the ministries and causes you love—or be lost to taxes along the way.
Thank you for your partnership in advancing generosity and fueling kingdom impact.
With gratitude,

What moves my heart to generosity: Evangelism
Live Generously
Turning Intentions into Inheritance
As schools let out, families are stepping into new seasons – travel, sports, internships, and more. My family is entering our own new season, as my youngest graduates from high school! For many of the next generation, this summer may feel more like a leap as they graduate or transition into the next phase of life.
This season of change presents a phenomenal opportunity to pass along words of wisdom that will inspire, guide, and encourage your kids, grandkids, mentees, or any family member. Affirmations and advice in the moment can be life-changing, but how do you make sure the most important truths stick with them through the months and years to come? Write them down.
Letters from loved ones have a rare kind of staying power. A letter remains a steady, familiar voice, sustaining its reader during uncertain times. The spirit of a written message endures and applies well beyond the season or circumstance in which it was composed.
Knowing where to start and how to express what matters most can be daunting. That’s why we partner with Legacy Letter – we give you free access to a template and expert guidance for this beautiful, personal process.
The tools are a few, easy steps away. We hope you take advantage of this opportunity to ensure that your family experiences all the love, admiration, and encouragement you bear for them.
